Trail Blazer Survival School

Trailbound

Description:

Trailbound hiking camp is the perfect camp for those who love the outdoors. Each day campers will depart on the Trail Blazer Shuttle to a new trail to explore. Each morning campers will hike several miles through the most beautiful and exciting locations the Upstate has to offer. After several years of camp we have perfectly planned our hikes to accommodate campers who are novice hikers and also be exciting to those who are experienced hikers. Most days we will end our hike at a swimming hole where campers can get out of the South Carolina heat and cool off before heading back to Park Place Children's Center. Campers are welcome to bring a change of clothes so they can play in the water as much as they would like before changing into dry clothes for the ride home. Some of the highlights of our hikes include locations such as the Stump House Tunnels. Campers will visit 3 never finished railway tunnels dug in the 1800s. Campers get the experience of exploring (with flashlights) the parts of the tunnel that are still open to the public (and only 69 degrees in the summer). Campers will also get the chance to hike multiple trails in the Dupont State Forest. Each year campers get to see the multitude of beautiful water falls in this park as well as the the local wildlife that inhabit the area. What makes the Dupont State Forest even more exciting is concluding a hike at Hooker Falls. At the base of Hooker Falls is a large pool that campers love to swim and play in after a long hike. This is truly the ultimate way to congratulate ones self after a strenuous hike. The same goes for Chau Ram State Park. The beautiful hikes in this park take campers to multiple water falls and scenic views and concludes in a small pool directly under a small waterfall. Campers love to cool off under the falls and eat lunch under the covered picnic area just up the hill. Each of our hikes has been hand picked from our favorite summers running camp and we are excited to share these beautiful locations with a new set of campers each year.
